    On 28th June grandfather Carlo De Riz bought the first field and the old barn, that would have been the first cellar and warehouse. On 26th January 1984 Luca, the grandson, was born.

    On 5th May unfortunately Grandfather Carlo died and Luca, just graduated at enologist school GB. Cerletti in Conegliano, started right away to manage the cellar.

    The old barn was completely renovated and would be the site of new offices and storage house. The new De Riz cellar was built to grow up the wine production thanks to the new technologies.

    Ilaria, Luca’s wife, joined the business and together they decided to replace the old storage house and transform it into the tasting room and wine shop. On 30th November Gioia, the first daughter, was born and to her it was dedicated a sparkling rosé sweet wine.

    The family house was built close to the De Riz cellar to let Gioia grow in an environment surrounded by nature. The historical vineyard has become her play garden and place of discovery.

    On 7th March the wine tourism became a law and on 7th July the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills were declared an UNESCO World Heritage site. De Riz cellar, certain that raising awareness of the land is very important, became a wine tourism business.

    On 23rd November Matteo, the 2nd son, was born and the wine Matthaeus was dedicated to him, produced by chardonnay grapes in a semi-sparkling more traditional version with a completely dry taste.

    Today

    De Riz cellar is well organized and well known in the territory. It has about 18 hectares in the Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG area and not only, with an average production of 3100 hectoliters of wine. Welcoming tourists from all over the world is a very important part of our business and is constantly evolving.
